The Importance Of Bloodwork

Bloodwork screenings are a key factor in obtaining the highest level of health and well-being. The sensitive medical data and results that are collected as a result of your bloodwork, are kept safe and in secure hands when performed at Midwest Express Clinic Urgent Care.

Bloodwork

Your bloodwork screening will take place in two visits:

  • Your first visit takes a look at your history and you receive an examination, looking for anything that might suggest the need for additional tests outside routine labs;
  • Your second visit goes over your results and discusses lifestyle changes, possible medications, and timing for any repeat or additional labs.

Health Factors

The bloodwork screening measures factors of your health such as:

  • CBC (anemia/infections)
  • CMP (kidneys/liver/Electrolytes/blood sugar)
  • A1C (diabetes)
  • TSH/Free T4 (thyroid)
  • Vitamin D
  • Lipids (cholesterol)
  • And more!

These screenings are typically referred by your provider or primary care provider and are recommended every year. After your screening is complete, our medical providers will send you home with recommendations and healthcare tips in order to obtain the highest level of health and well-being.

Preventative health

Don’t stop there, take advantage of your health with preventative screenings:

  • Pap smear
  • Colonoscopy (By referral)
  • Mammogram (By referral)

What is the difference between Bloodwork and Biometric Screening?

Bloodwork is just that: bloodwork. Biometric screening is an evaluation of your health using more objective aspects of the physical exam: heart rate, respiratory rate, oxygen levels in the blood, height, and weight, etc. An annual visit/physical generally involves putting the above together with a detailed medical history and physical exam, and reviewing all of that information holistically to see if you may be at increased risk for other health issues.

Why Should I Select Midwest Express Clinic Over Other Labs For My Screenings?

At our walk-in clinic, we do not require patients to make an appointment in order to be seen by a skilled medical provider. We also offer an easy, fast and convenient virtual check-in that helps to minimize your overall wait. In addition, Medicaid is accepted at our clinic whereas most other labs will not accept Medicaid as an appropriate method of payment. If you do not use Medicaid, or do not have a health insurance plan, no worries! All of our locations offer a low, self-pay rate for all rendered services.
