Strike Out Hunger event raises thousands of dollars for the Food Bank of Northwest Indiana
On November 17th, Midwest Express Clinic sponsored the “Strike Out Hunger” event, a Virtual Hangout with the Food Bank of Northwest Indiana and Kris Bryant. The event was a stunning success, with guests enjoying the food, games, Q&A with Bryant, and an auction which raised over $1,400 during bidding.
The event came to an adorable high during the virtual Q&A when one question had the Internet shedding (happy) tears. Tenley, a 10-year-old softball player, asked Kris for advice on how to eventually play for the University of Notre Dame, before bursting into tears.
The video has since gone viral. The day after the event, Tenley and her father appeared on ESPN Chicago 1000 where Midwest Express Clinic surprised her with a signed Kris Bryant baseball and bat.
In total, the event raised over $3500. Midwest Express Clinic is so excited to have been a part of this amazing moment.
